Extra Blog Post : October

Since it is October I decided to make this blog post Halloween themed. This is a song called "Shake Dem Halloween Bones", it is a song for kindergartners or children in early childhood education and it is a pretty fun song that teachers can play for the children also teaching them how the bones are connected in an appropriate way for younger children which I thought was pretty cool.

Blog #8 : Research and Working EQ

1.  What is your working EQ?
  • What is the best way a kindergarten teacher can teach the students?
2.  What is a possible answer to your working EQ? Please write the answer in thesis format.

Working EQ: What is the best way a kindergarten teacher can teach the students?
•  There are many different ways of teaching and all kids learn differently,
•  The teacher should try out each teaching method and see which one seems to be more effective with all or almost all of the students.

3.  What is the most important source you have used that has helped you come up with an answer to your working EQ?
  • The most important source I have used was an article listed in my working bibliography, that talks about how all children in kindergarten and early education have different methods of learning. It also talks about how teachers should try to make the lessons fun so the children stay focused and learn better.

4.  Who is your mentor, or where are you doing mentorship, and how does what you are doing relate to your working EQ?
  • My mentor is Ms. Michelle Pena-Handley, I am doing my mentorship at Kellogg Polytechnic Elementary School in Pomona, CA. This relates to my working EQ because she is a kindergarten teacher and she knows about the different methods of teaching.

Blog #7: Independent Component 1 Approval

INDEPENDANT COMPONENT

1. Describe what you plan to do for your 30 hours.
For my independent component I will do an extra 30 hours of mentorship.
2.   Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.
I will be doing my independent component hours with a different teacher and I will continue doing mentorship with my current mentor.
3.  And explain how what you will be doing will help you explore your topic in more depth.
This will help me with my senior project topic in more depth because I will get more time with the students and I will be in two different classrooms learning from two different teachers.
